MyWorkPLAN enhances organization at Alesco

Alesco Gmbh has built its business on the need for modern product development processes. Its skills incorporate traditional modelling methods, rapid prototyping and rapid tooling. From its Oberursel factory in Germany Alesco plays a central role in a network of specialists within the same market. Its customers include Braun Gmbh, BEHR Thermo-tronik Gmbh, Continental Teves and SiemensVDO Automotive AG. Since it started work in its new factory, the company has added 5-axis machining centres and injection moulding machines to give it an impressive equipment list.

Managing Directors Jens Weck and Rüdiger Irle were already well organised, with fully integrated CAD and CAM, however, they still sought further productivity improvements. Jens Weck said, "Time, quality, and costs were our main concerns. We wanted to significantly reduce the time between concept and production."

Sescoi's MyWorkPLAN job management software provided Alesco with the tools to control its business more effectively. The software simplifies costing, allowing the company to analyse its customers CAD drawings and harness the knowledge of its engineers to produce accurate and competitive quotations. Additionally, MyWorkPLAN allows Alesco to monitor job progress and manage resources and purchasing. Jens Weck added, "The software's central database allows us to carry out administration tasks with the minimum time and effort. All the documents we require, for example, quotations, acknowledgements, proofs of delivery and invoices are all generated by MyWorkPLAN. We can even obtain cost information as the job progresses."

MyWorkPLAN is designed for trouble free implementation and ease of use. The software is simply downloaded and installed. The user can be up and running with the minimum of training and support. Its ability to integrate with existing software, including CAD packages, MS Office, and accountancy packages, has optimised Alesco's investment in existing software and dovetailed with its current methods for management and information acquisition. Jens Weck said, "The menus are clear and well organised, which makes the software intuitive to use. All the necessary functions can be found at first go.
